No Need for Panic

“Look dear. There’s an emergency.” Exclaimed Gladys

“Why can’t they have them during the day?” Niggled Hector.

“It’s their duty to be on call at all times.” His wife reminded him.

“I know that… but it’s a damn nuisance…we have to drive through.”

“You’re being selfish dear. Maybe lives are in danger.”

“Excuse me mate.” Hector leaning out of the car window and demanding of a bystander. “What exactly is going on here?”

“Is it life-threatening?” enjoined his wife.

“Well Madam, if you’d call cleaning buildings for Christmas at night as life-threatening – yes.” Replied the spectator.

Hector will be furious! Lovely, humorous tale – I especially like Hector’s line about having emergencies in the daytime! Lovely read
