Brave Until the End

Written for Friday Fast Fiction, 100 word prompt

Stephen was a few seconds from a violent loss of temper. Someone was trying to coerce him with threats into  making a decision he was unwilling make and his mind was reacting with cold, obstinate refusal.

Ignore the bullying – after all, the property had been entrusted to him by his Lordship and regardless of harassment and he must defend it..

“I’m warning you.” Screamed the female warrior from the the castle gate.

“I’d rather die.” Retorted Stephen, in defiance.

“For the last time Stephen, get down from that stone or they’ll be no ice cream.” Cried his exasperated mother.

Ice cream changes everything. Even submitting to a female warrior.

I would cave in for ice cream. There will be other battles.

Great ending twist. 🙂 Reminds me a bit of Calvin & Hobbs comics, how he often viewed his teacher.

Ha ha, funny twist! What fun, to be a child and imagine every stone a castle. By the way, your link at Friday Fictioneers isn’t working; I had to guess about how to get here.
