Intrepid Optimist

Intrepid Optimist is the place where I can share my stories; fact, fiction and thoughts from the past and present. It’s Written by myself for people who believe adventure knows no age

You’ve been sitting patiently in your doctor’s or dentist’s waiting room for what seems an eternity –  you’re bored to tears. For the umpteenth time you’ve disinterestedly flipped through the pages of the stack of out-of-date and well-thumbed editions of Woman’s Own, Readers Digest, the Big Issue or other such publications which you would personally never subscribe to.

You’re impatient and heartily fed up, acknowledging each newcomer with a nod and an artificial smile as they come through the door. You are speculating just how much longer is it going to take before your name is called.

At times like this you could kick yourself for not having brought along a magazine or book of your own to read?

This is precisely what happened to me this morning.

About bbryanthomas

My library books are on my tablet so I always have something to read. Yup waiting room mags are the worst.

Unfortunately or maybe not, I have not adapted to tablet reading. I still prefer the real thing.

I must confess feeling the same. You cannot replace that feeling of curling up with a good book. But it does meet my need to have something to read when out.

It’s raining today in Germany and I’ll be staying at home tonight reading. A tablet will certainly be out of place lying next to a gin and tonic.
